What? You didn’t know that was Glasser’s real name? Embarrassing. Anyway, she’s back with the first snippet from her new album, due out on True Panther in October:
‘Shape’ is another slice of sad-but-soaring electronica, following neatly on from 2010’s fantastic ‘Ring’. If the LP is half as good as that, we’re in for a treat.
More summer-loving goodness from our favourite Spanish four-piece, Delorean. They’ve recruited Glasser for a little extra lung power on this new tune, ‘Destitute Time’. Their long awaited album ’Apar’ is out on 9th September (True Panther) and they’re also doing a big old European and US tour from around about now. We highly recommend you go find a spot near you.
We’re worryingly excited about the return of Spanish band Delorean. The video above is their new single ‘Spirit’ and is going to be the opener to their long-awaited album ‘Apar’ (out September 9th on True Panther Sounds; you can pre-order it here). They stole our hearts with their third album, Subiza, back in 2010 – here’s three good reasons (of nine) why:
Dispatch from South Africa today. Atteridgeville (a township west of Pretoria to you uneducated lot) native DJ Spoko was one of the geniuses (genii?) behind DJ Mujava’s ‘Township Funk’ and he’s now making the crossover journey himself with his upcoming EP on True Panther, ‘Ghost Town’.
Two tracks have seen the light of YouTube recently, and they showcase different shades of his self-proclaimed ‘bacardi house’. ‘Cucumba’ is a catchy, percussion-led foot shuffler, whilst ‘Batauweng’ is a more layered house track with vocals and horn stabs thrown into the mix. We love ‘em both.
And we could NEVER pass up an opportunity to post South African house’s breakout anthem. Such an ear-worm.
