Human Drizzle: The Playlist, December 2013

Flippin’ heck, where does the time go? We’re already five days into December and that can only mean one thing – the holidays are coming.

As tradition on these pages at the start of the month, we’ve compiled all our featured music from the last 30 onto one playlist. Consider it the perfect accompaniment to all that online shopping, chestnut cracking, present wrapping, decoration-hanging, cracker-pulling and under-the-mistletoe kissing you’re likely to do over the next few weeks.

There are some corkers in there. From Sam Smith’s new belter, to newbies from Chris Malinchak, Flight Facilities and Todd Terje. More disco from Skream, a mixmag premiere from HD Presents alumnus Mighty Mouse and a stand-out from our new favourite West Country three-piece, Panda.

As usual – let us your know your thoughts. We’re eagerly awaiting your suggestions over on Twitter, come give us a shout.

Now, the music:

2. Panda – Eighty Nine:

3. Second City – I Wanna Feel:

As ever, we’ve selected our top five of the month and it was the trickiest choice yet, so feast your ears on this lot:

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, October 2013

It’s that time again. All our tunes from the last month in one easy-to-use playlist, escorted by our usual carefully selected Top 5 tracks of the month. Reprimand us on Twitter and/or Facebook if you feel we’ve made any howling errors on this month’s selections.

This should tide things over nicely until our FINAL PARTY OF THE YEAR. In 28 days time we will be taking over the former department store now known as Peckham Palais and assembling a frighteningly good line-up for our Halloween party. Heading back down South of the river, we welcome the fabulous Mighty Mouse to headline proceedings. Support on the 1s and 2s comes from long-time HD fave Clancy and before him, all the way from Australia, is Black Magic Disco. Let’s make him feel welcome.

Friday 1st November. Block it out. Tickets are currently a steal at just £5 a pop, so snap one/loads up from the link below and tell your pals about it here.

Now the music:

And here are our top 5 tracks of the month:

2. Tourist – Together: Brighton-based producer has upped the tempo on this new release and it’s very welcome indeed. Keep your ears peeled for the EP in December…

3. Four Tet – Parallel Jalebi:Towering piece of electronica from HD royalty. Check out ‘Beautiful Rewind’, now.

4. Moby – Another Perfect Life (Andrew Weatherall Remix): Andrew Weatherall turns Moby’s new one into a euphoric, sing-along anthem.

5. Bodhi – Imperfection: With an upcoming EP on Future Classic and this brilliant piece of catchy pop, the Welsh duo are slowly taking over. Catch them on their UK tour this Autumn…

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, August 2013

First things first. Those of you that haven’t got your tickets for Human Drizzle Presents on Saturday, get on it. Anticipation levels are reaching fever pitch and only when you’ve got that ticket (print-out doesn’t sound as good) can you let it spill over:

Whilst you get on with that, here’s the pick of the tunes from July. It was an iPod-dock-in-the-park kind of month and there’s plenty of summery electronica in there to keep you on those sunny vibes. As ever, we’ve also picked our top 5 to spark things off.

See you down the front on Saturday…

And here are our Top 5 tracks of the month:

1. Dan Croll – From Nowhere (Ben Gomori’s Staring You In The Eye Remix): This masterclass of a remix finally gets a release. Come see your boy Ben Gomori spin some tunes this Saturday at Human Drizzle Presents, we can’t wait.

2. Foals – Bad Habit (Voyeur Remix): Foals’ new material has been remixed left, right and centre but Voyeur’s effort stands out, keeping Yannis’ vocal intact but giving it a decent amount of drive.

3. Dusky – Mr Man: Wonderful change in form: Dusky returns with this stunning downbeat number.

4. Disclosure – F for You (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix): T.E.E.D serves up this sparkling, bass-heavy remix. Dream team collaboration.

5. Az&Tor – Carry Mine (The Golden Boy Remix): The Golden Boy adds plenty of party vibes to this new one from Az&Tor, the duo on MadTech who are picking up some serious heat. Ones to watch.
