Human Drizzle: The Playlist, December 2015

Regular readers may be aware that our playlist game has been far from strong of late, and for that we sincerely apologise. However we can assure you it’s worth the wait. There’s a lot of good music on this one.

In the past month Hubie Davison’s disco-sampling ‘Sanctified’ finally got a release on Midland’s ReGraded label, and Future Classic have been busy nurturing new psych-pop band World Champion. Kidnap Kid’s channelling a deeper, nigh-Innervisions style to his production and Auntie Flo released one of our albums of the year.

Plus new tracks from HD faves Lorca, Doc Daneeka, Dusky and a whole lot more. It’s a real goodie. And you can take this overdue bundle of joy as purely an appetiser for our Best of 2015 playlist, due to land in a couple of weeks.

All that’s left is for you to press play and for us to wish you a whole load of peace and goodwill this Christmas. Have a good one.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, October 2015

This month’s playlist feels very seasonal, very autumn-winter collection. If this were our English GCSE coursework we might even crowbar in a misuse of ‘pathetic fallacy’.

Whatever. There’s some dreamy, horizon-expanding electronica from Thrupence on there, guiding you through a classic Lindstrøm disco remix to the basement sounds of Bicep and George Fitz.

Bumpf over, give it a listen…

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, September 2015

It’s fair to say August has been a wash out. Fear not though, there’s an abundance of things to brighten up your horizon. Firstly, our September playlist. And secondly, our September party.

The playlist’s this month is short and sweet. With highlights including a dreamy number from Dekmantel’s Young Marco and a jazz-infused classic from the heavily-hyped duo from Peckham, Chaos In The CBD. Future Classic are back in business with three new tracks and Leon Vynehall’s penned a tune inspired by the Autobahn.

It’s all good stuff, dive in:

With just over a few weeks to go, £6 early birds are running low for our tenth edition of Human Drizzle Presents. Buy yours here.

Ben Gomori, NVOY, our very own Hot Karl and one very special guest are all taking centre stage. Basing House won’t know what’s hit it. Friday 25th September – see you down there.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, August 2015

The summer is a-rolling, how it’s August already we don’t know. With Kanye’s controversial performance now a mere memory, and Gottwood and Farr smashing it out the park, the festival season is well under way. Field Maneuvers is looming on the horizon, so if you’re looking to finish off the summer in style we strongly suggest you bag yourself a ticket before it sells out.

Another month of course means another playlist. You can catch up on all of our favourite tunes right here, right now. Dusky’s EP is still doing the rounds, both Roosevelt and Ghost Culture have got two to their name and there’s one helluva Gospel track coming out on Wolf Music. It’s a good listen.

And in other news, our tenth edition of Human Drizzle Presents is right around the corner. That’s right, party time. We’re taking over Basing House on 25th September and it’s going to be ace. Stay tuned for more details, early birds are on sale as we speak…

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, July 2015

That time again.

Whack this on when you’re lounging about the pool sipping a cocktail in the sweltering heat this weekend. If you have to make do with frisbee in the park, a few Red Stripes and a portable speaker, then just as well.

Summer vibes-a-plenty on this one with the return of Bag Raiders, Aeroplane and that jazzy Polish producer, Klaves. Frankey & Sandrino, Fort Romeau and Dusky are in there too if you’re after something a little deeper.

Enjoy, and as ever, hit us up over on Twitter if you think we’ve missed the unmissable.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, June 2015

They come round so quick. June playlist is ready and raring to go, armed with all of our recent favourites for your listening pleasure.

Bicep have been real busy and make three appearances, there’s lovely swirling synths from new kids on the block NVOY and Kayper, and Charles Murdoch’s been remixing sounds from the Sydney Opera House. Not to mention the totally brutal number Dusky have recently dropped.

If you’re after a longer listen, we’ve just posted Ben Gomori’s set from Human Drizzle Presents at The Alibi last Friday night, it’s definitely worth checking out.

For now though, your Friday afternoon deserves this:

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, October 2014

We’re already steaming through October so it’s high time we got our monthly playlist up and running. As the festival season’s well out the way, the output of new music has come through thick and fast.

The last few weeks has seen Dauwd return to Kompakt Records, Breach teaming up with Kelis, Chris Malinchak teaming up with MNEK and PMR Records launch Beat Club, a new sub-label they describe as a ‘playground for new young talent’.

We’ve squeezed in two tracks from newbies Sylas and we’ve even whacked in Bicep’s recent Essential Mix at the very end. Just cos it’s that good.

Enjoy, people.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, September 2014

September, is that you? But you’re early surely? Whatever, you’re here now.

Stave off the autumn with us by taking a tour of August’s musical delights. John Talabot featured heavily, Shelby Grey gave notice of his not inconsiderable promise and everyone lost their collective sh*t over the Caribou remix. Sounds like the best night ever.

Whilst we’ve got your attention, block out Friday 5th December in your diaries. Next Human Drizzle Presents. It’s been far too long.
