Top 5 Tracks of the Week

1. Krankbrother – Disappear Here: The Brothers Clancy bring the atmos in the B-side to their ‘Dreamscape’ EP. It’s over eight minutes of balearic goodness and joins the Fort Romeau remix we featured last week. Without doubt an EP worth parting ways with your hard-earned cash for.

2. Ten Fe – Twist Your Arm (Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas Remix): The list of guest artists on this Ten-Fe remix EP is ludicrous. UNKLE, Ewan Pearson, Tom Furse and Roman Flugel. They all join this effort from cosmic disco veterans Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas.

3. OCTO CHAMP – Said You Were: OCTO CHAMP, the south London (and occasionally Glaswegian) producer, video director and one half of party series Rigid Disco, is the latest to join the Let’s Go Swimming label ranks. Their fourth release comes in the form of his new four track EP entitled ‘Not Quite Here Yet’. ‘Said You Were’ is the second A-side and the bumping bass, colourful vocal and infectious drum patterns are a tasty teaser of more goodness to come.

Go see him IRL at LGS’ next party at The Waiting Room on Saturday 18th March.

4. Recloose – No I Don’t: Second cut from the Brooklyn-based producer’s forthcoming ‘Spirit Knows’ EP and it’s an earworm. Hits the shelves on Monday, bookmark it.

5. Deltawerk – Corridor (Marvin & Guy Mix): Italian duo Marvin & Guy get the call up for remix duties on Deltawerk’s second EP, serving up a tense ten minute work-out that joins Audiojack’s remix on the release. And the original’s worth a listen too.

The latest instalment in Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel mix series is worth a visit for a trip down memory lane. Metronomy’s Joe Mount rediscovers some of his favourites from seven years ago, whilst peppering the hour with a few newbies too.

For more new music, head over to our SoundCloud for gems this week from Marquis Hawkes, Seb Wildblood and DJ Koze.

Top 5 Tracks of the Week

1. Talaboman – Safe Changes: A blissful cut from the forthcoming debut album from Talaboman, John Talabot and Axel Boman’s collaborative side-project. The album’s called ‘The Night Land’ and is out on 3rd March, via R & S Records.

2. Body Music – Just One/Get it Baby (Patchworks Remix): Double whammy here with two tracks from Body Music’s 4-track EP entitled ‘Just One’, out now on Razor-N-Tape. Body Music comprises of Bosq of Soul Clap Records fame and the enviably-named Vito Roccoforte of The Rapture. These two efforts are funky as you like.

3. Krankbrother – Dreamscape (Fort Romeau Remix): Always a pleasure to see a new Fort Romeau remix doing the rounds. Krankbrother’s ‘Dreamscape’ gets the refix with his signature romantic house sound and a splash of acid house mixed in too. Due for release 13th March, wethinks.

4. Recloose & Ezrakh – Geomancer: Brooklyn-based producer Recloose returns to Aus Music with this slinky number featuring vocalist and producer Ezrakh. You can get your hands on this and two other tracks on the ‘Spirit Knows’ EP on 27th February.

5. Parra For Cuva – Unfinished Colours Ft. Other: ‘Unfinished Colours’ is the down-tempo and pensive track from the Berlin-based producer’s latest EP, ‘Mood In C’. It’s out now on Project Mooncircle and available to buy on a number of different formats here.

Felix Dickinson joined the ranks of the Dekmantel podcasts series this week. One not to miss:

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, February 2017

Jam-packed full of goodies this one.

A nod must be made to Cin Cin’s sixth release and their split 12” featuring gems from Elliott Lion and New Jackson. London-based Fold finally releases his 3-track EP on Moxie’s On Loop label, Krankbrother recruit Fort Romeau for remix duties and Matthias Reiling, Art Alfie and Coeo bring the funk.

Sweely’s timeless ‘All The Reasons’ finally gets a release on Distant Hawaii and we welcome back Wolf Music with an excellent offering from Hodini. Not to mention the totally exquisite moment from Z-Lovecraft on South London label No Bad Days.

There’s a lot to digest. The pensive ‘Songs For Knotty’ from Ishmael Ensemble should ease you in nicely…

Krankbrother present 10 Years of Phonica Album Release Party at Fire

One of the most well-known record stores in London town, Phonica Records, is turning ten years old this year and what better way to celebrate than team up with hot shot promoters Krankbrother to host an unmissable party. Not only are the brothers Krank and Phonica DJs stepping behind the decks, but they’ve also commandeered a spectacularly good line-up to join proceedings in the atmospheric arches of London’s Fire.

Kasseem Mosse will be bringing a live show to Room 2, joined by Bristol-based Appleblim and funk aficionados Psychemagik. Heavyweight headliner Henrik Schwarz will be taking over Room 1, with support from the excellent Midland.

It just so happens these mighty DJs all feature on the celebratory compilation CD marking a decade of Phonica. This is expected to hit the shelves on 17th February – pre-order your copy here.

It’s a ridiculously good line-up to mark a brilliant milestone. Come celebrate and bag your tickets now.

If the appetites need whetting, check out these delights:
