Gilles Peterson – Sunsplash mix

Something a little longer, a little more louche, a little more leisurely for you now.

Kicking off a series of Guardian Travel mixes, Worldwide and Brownswood head honcho Gilles Peterson has done a mix previewing his slot at Turkey’s Sunsplash festival next week. The founder describes it as summing up the “soulful, bubbly baselines, uplifting vocals, deep rolling beats, a hint of jazz and overall positive atmosphere.”

Sounds good, right?

Floating Points – King Bromeliad

After essentially crashing twitter over the weekend, feels only right that we bring this from Floating Points to your attention:

Clearly taking an interest in the finer details of producing (as befitting the phd student he is), Sam Shepherd has created eight minutes of atmospheric shuffle with overt jazzy tones. ‘King Bromeliad’ is out soon on the label he co-owns with Alex Nut, Eglo.
