Excitement levels are reaching fever pitch as we approach our latest instalment of Human Drizzle Presents.

We’re back at Basing House this Friday with Laurence Guy, Krywad & Farrer and our very own Hot Karl. Tickets can still be bought from RA here.

Having had our eyes of Laurence Guy for a while now, we’re chuffed to have finally booked the London producer. You need look no further than his ace releases on Church, Rose Records or Cin Cin for proof he knows his way around a tune. But it’s his inspired selections that’ll be doing the talking this Friday night.

We caught up with him to see which tunes have been grabbing his attention recently:

1. JohNick – Play The World: “Classic party starter from JohNick, hasn’t left the bag for a number of years and I’m sure it won’t anytime soon…”

2. Sade – Surrender Your Love (Kenny Larkin Remix): “Amazing Sade edit from Kenny Larkin, I paid more than I care to think about on discogs for a copy of this, but it’s well worth it!”

3. B.A.M Music Inc. – Missing You: “Ridiculous disco vibes from B.A.M, fatefully nabbed the last copy from Love Vinyl when it came out and have been dancing to it ever since.”

4. Lauer – Hector: “Hands in the air deepness from Lauer, guaranteed to make people start hugging each other on the dancefloor!”

5. Lucretio – Want: “Peak.Time.Banger”

Thirsty for more? Why not grab a ticket for Friday night and see what else he has in store for our dancing delectation.

Human Drizzle Presets @ Basing House, Friday 23rd September

We’re excited about this one.

On Friday 23rd September Human Drizzle Presents returns to Basing House with a humdinger of a line-up. Tickets are now available at a reasonably-priced £6 here.

hd-29-2-2-fb-cover

We’ve been keeping a keen eye on Laurence Guy’s game ever since he crafted this saucy Valentine’s Day mix for us back in 2014. He’s been building a solid fan base over the years with timeless releases on Rose Records, Cin Cin, Outplay and two EPs on the excellent South London label Church – one of the latter was a sell-out.

As showcased on his recent Rinse FM show, he has a thirst for vintage disco and we can’t wait to see what he throws down on Friday 23rd.

Joining Laurence Guy will be Percolate’s Krywald & Farrer. We’ve wanted to nab the residents for a while – not only are their mixes fun-filled, party-starters but they’ve also developed an infectious sound of their own on recent productions. It’s a blend of house music that’s influenced by world music, and it’s definitely made for dancing:

Check out any number of their mixes up on SoundCloud for the longer listen, not to mention their newly-created, edits-only label Persies (we’ll talk about that another time).

As ever, our resident Hot Karl will be warming things up nicely from the start. All three are firm favourite selectors of ours and we can’t wait to have them down to the intimate surroundings of Basing House.

Grab a ticket here and we’ll see you down the front.

Laurence Guy – Ubik

And fiiiiiinally it’s up.

Laurence guy’s been picking up fans left, right and centre with his releases on Church, Dirt Crew and more recently Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett’s Cin Cin label. His sparkling offering of deep disco house above is joined on the 12″ by the mid-roller ‘One For You, Lou’ and two other acid-house tracks from Todd Osborn.

The good news for any Londoners out there is that Laurence Guy is soon be headlining our next party in the intimate arches of the Bermondsey Social Club on Friday 13th May. Not one to miss, grab a £6 ticket here.

Laurence Guy – Thinking Of You EP

Laurence Guy is on a roll!

Fresh from his popular ‘Kojak’ EP released on the excellent Church label, LG has hit the ground running this year with no signs of slowing down. He’s dropped a two-track EP on the Leipzigian label, Rose Records. The title track above, ‘Thinking Of You’, is a fast paced banger set on top of melancholy piano lines and vintage samples.

On the flip side, ‘Hutch’, an equally energetic number that builds slowly on strings and high-hats:

The good news is this you can see this rising star in London real soon as you’ll be glad to hear we’ve recruited him to head things up for our next party down at the Bermondsey Social Club. Tickets are currently just £6, reserve your space on the intimate dance floor now.

And lastly if you missed it, have a listen to one of LG’s other recent releases on Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett’s Cin Cin label, ‘Ubik’. It’s a marvel, get on the pre-orders for the 12″ that also features Todd Osborn here.

Human Drizzle Presents @ Basing House – 25.09.15

HD_September_2015_fb_coverHaving recently announced the excellent Wolf Music as headliners joining NVOY, Ben Gomori and Hot Karl for our party this Friday night, we’re limbering up for what is promising to be a night to remember.

Basing House, 10pm on Friday 25th. Get your tickets here.

Although we’ve already featured Wolf Music’s top tunes of the summer, you need look no further than this mix they did for Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space back in April for the kind of music they like to throw together. You can see the tracklisting here, but highlights would have to come from their own label’s exports, Medlar and Frits Wentink. Not to mention the superb K.98 remix of Thrilogy’s ‘Heaven’, also released on Wolf.

NVOY recently dropped the above infectious piece of future house on Black Butter Records. For the longer listen, check the mix they’ve done for the label’s London’s forthcoming parties below:

Penultimately, check out HD fave Ben Gomori’s exclusive recording of his Bestival set this year. He’s played for us twice before and we can’t wait to have him playing again.

Last but not least. Hot Karl rustled this one up a few weeks ago. A selection of his favourite tracks from the year to get you going.

See you Friday.

Wolf Music’s Tunes of the Summer

Excitement levels are at fever pitch at HD HQ this week. We’re counting down the days until we can shake a leg to the supreme selections of Wolf Music on Friday night at Basing House.

We caught up with the lads to see what’s been on heavy rotation for them this summer. Feast your ears on the results:

Carrie Lucas – Dance With You (Marquis Hawkes edit) (Homesick): Dancefloor destroyer.

Jon Cutler – It’s Yours (Chez): Guilty pleasure from 2001. Yes, it was played to death 14 years ago but time has passed and it still sounds good.

Andras & Oscar – Looking Back (Tornado Wallace Remix) (Dopeness Galore): 100% Australia. Winning combo.

Sweet Thunder ‘Everybody’s Singing Love Songs’ (Fantasy): Sublime soul-stepper. Music that gets you moving.

Labelle ‘Phoenix (The Amazing Flight of a Lone Star): Patti Labelle’s voice is incredible and the arrangement on this record is equally incredible. The record builds and builds, full of emotion. Strings, piano, voice, all of my favourite elements combine to pack a serious punch. You need to listen to the whole song to really get it, and once you do, I’m sure you will love it too.

Wick Blaze – Took My Love (Optimo): Very useful bridging tool that allows me as a DJ to take the mood whichever way I feel after playing this track.

Armando – 151 (Gallop / Warehouse): Classic Acid Jackin’ from Armando. Raw Chicago shit. Mike Dunn on production too, and Mike Dunn does not mess.

Wolf Music:
If you’re unaware, Wolf Music are a duo consisting of Matt and Stu. They’ve been running the highly-reputable eponymous label since 2009, and they’ve been playing records for a lot longer. Deeply rooted in house, disco and soul, they’ve forged an identity for themselves as one of the hottest labels to keep your eye on, championing fresh talent such as Medlar, PBR Streetgang, Casino Times and Bicep to name a few. Their extensive record collection is rivalled by few and attracts bookings all across Europe.

This summer’s seen them play at Gottwood and Festival No. 6. They’ve played for Krankbrother, at Dance Tunnel and they recently made an appearance at XOYO as part of Bicep’s residency. Check out a few of our favourites from the label’s canon below, and stay tuned for more on the duo very shortly.

We can’t wait to see what they bring to the party this Friday night. Joining Black Butter Records’ new signing NVOY, HD fave Ben Gomori and our very own Hot Karl, you’d be a fool to miss out on this one.

Tickets are here. Come join the fun.
