Phoenix – Entertainment

It’s been a long time coming, but nigh three and half years after their sixth album and breakthrough PROPER, French indie feel-goods Phoenix are back with a brand spanking new single, ‘Entertainment’. It’s energetic, this one. Their much-anticipated seventh album ‘Bankrupt!’ is out April 22nd on Glassnote Records.

Bit of trivia for you: did you know that lead singer Thomas Mars is married to movie director Sofia Coppola? One of the band’s first ever singles, ‘Too Young’, was used in ‘Lost In Translation’ (one of her better ones). You learn something every day…

Flight Facilities – Clair De Lune

Unexpectedly, Flight Facilities have taken it down a notch or two on their latest single. Inspired by the great Claude Debussy, here’s ‘Clair De Lune’, a downplayed yet enchanting waltz featuring the vocals of Christine Hoberg.

Having released the catchy and upbeat ‘With You’ back in May, the duo from Down Under have flexed their production skills here to strip things back and hatch a tune rich in atmospherics. The warm synths accompany Hoberg’s crystal vocals perfectly, with twinkling undertones and rising strings sealing the deal. All very festive, dare we say? It gets earlier every ye…blah blah blah.

Out now on Glassnote Records, we suggest you give it multiple listens.
