Human Drizzle: The Playlist, October 2017

Ain’t done one of these for a while now have we?

All our favourites from the last few weeks in one easy-to-use playlist. Highlights would have to include Pépe’s debut on Lobster Theremin, Dan Shake’s new one from the the brilliantly-names ‘Shakes On A Plane’ and a couple of tracks from Permanent Vacation’s excellent new compilation.

There’s also Jessie Ware-like smoothness from newcomers Silk House, D.I.S.C.O from the likes of Junktion and thatmanmonkz and a couple of forthcoming tracks on Future Classic to lighten the mood too.

Midnight To Monaco – One Way Ticket

Currently on a mission to ‘take 50s doo wop harmony into the future’, LA-based Midnight To Monaco are carving out a niche and well-recognisable sound with their latest radio-friendly single, ‘One Way Ticket’.

The Future Classic-affiliated duo now have Island Records in charge of shifting this one outside of Australia and New Zealand, fast work given the fact their catchy debut single ‘Suicide’ was released just over a year ago.

Kenton Slash Demon – Peace

Kenton Slash Demon are back with new single ‘Peace’, released on Future Classic today. This radio-friendly track features Nikolaj from When Saints Go Machine on vocals and is bound to push the Danish duo further into the big time.

And for the longer listen – a mixtape they’ve done recently for Berlin-based KALTBLUT Magazine, featuring ‘some of the trance and ambient music’ they love:

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, March 2016

Short and sweet playlist this month, with loadza good new music to get your teeth into over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

A strong return to the game from David August, Lindstrom and Detroit Swindle. New labels from Kidnap Kid and South London radio/party No Bad Days, a sparkling remix from Four Tet and dreamy cuts from Seb Wildblood and The Range.

Most noticeably Laurence Guy’s popped up on the blog with a storming start to 2016. In just under two months he’ll be heading things up for our party at the Bermondsey Social Club on Friday 13th May. More details on that intimate affair here.

For now, tuck into this and enjoy x

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, December 2015

Regular readers may be aware that our playlist game has been far from strong of late, and for that we sincerely apologise. However we can assure you it’s worth the wait. There’s a lot of good music on this one.

In the past month Hubie Davison’s disco-sampling ‘Sanctified’ finally got a release on Midland’s ReGraded label, and Future Classic have been busy nurturing new psych-pop band World Champion. Kidnap Kid’s channelling a deeper, nigh-Innervisions style to his production and Auntie Flo released one of our albums of the year.

Plus new tracks from HD faves Lorca, Doc Daneeka, Dusky and a whole lot more. It’s a real goodie. And you can take this overdue bundle of joy as purely an appetiser for our Best of 2015 playlist, due to land in a couple of weeks.

All that’s left is for you to press play and for us to wish you a whole load of peace and goodwill this Christmas. Have a good one.

Touch Sensitive – Pizza Guy (Sau Poler Remix)

‘Pizza Guy’ is Future Classic’s rose that refuses to wilt. The original was released over two years ago back in April 2013. It was remixed back then by HD fave Lauer, and now this dreamy effort from Sau Poler is part of yet another remix package including versions from Sage Caswell, I:Cube and Fantastic Man. All decent and worth checking out. For a trip down memory lane, here are those two from 2013:
