Jerome LOL – Always Ft Sara Z

As paid-up fans of the sadly-departed LOL Boys, we at HD were always going to take great interest in what Jerome LOL did next. Well…..

‘Always’ is the first cut from his ‘Deleted/Fool’ EP, out on Friends of Friends 04/02, and it’s a shuffling, upbeat four minutes featuring the vocal talents of Sara Z. Whets the appetite nicely for the EP, we’d say.

Whilst this is his first solo EP, he’s not been lounging around this past year. He self-released two, dancier (yup, it’s a word) singles that are both worth a listen, check ‘em out:

Friends of Friends – Show Me The Future

LA label Friends of Friends have consistently been on the money with their releases since way back when, and this is no different. Their second showcase compilation, ‘Show Me The Future’, is conceived as an exploration of the electronic artists they expect to make some (bleepy) noise in 2013. It’s that and more, doubling up as a great seasonal playlist chock-a-block with wintry electronica to hunker down with. Highlights for us are the kind-of-already-big Ryan Hemsworth’s effort and ‘Smooth West’ by NYC’s Octa Octa.

And, whilst we’re in this musical neighbourhood, here’s a taster for Shlohmo’s upcoming ‘Laid Out’ EP, out March 5th on the very same FoF x Wedidit:

Tomas Barfod – November Skies (Jerome LOL & Nite Jewel Remixes)

Friends of Friends are releasing an EP of remixes of Tomas Barfod’s ‘November Skies’ on 26th November and here is the piercingly beautiful effort from Jerome LOL.

A real delight, we hope you’ll agree. The co-owner of label Body High gives the original a whimsical edge in re-pitching Nina Kinert’s vocals and stretching out proceedings a little. However not as impressively robust as another stand-out from the EP in Nite Jewel’s rework.

Both are very good reasons to revisit the enchanting original:
