Dark Sky – Voyages (Francis Inferno Orchestra remix)

Dark Sky have had some remixes done of their ‘Voyages’ single, this is the best one:

Newly signed to Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label, Francis Inferno Orchestra is a house producer from Down Under and he’s done a tech-house job on this one. Rhythmic but not oppressive, it’s a mid-set staple.

As festival season cranks into gear, we can imagine getting a serious nod on to this one, perhaps sipping a cold beer on a beach somewhere that isn’t Brighton/the Thames. Surely that’s enough to warrant a listen?

Jamie xx – Sleep Sound

New stuff from Jamie xx always makes us sit up in our bed with laptop propped up on our knees at our desk. This is no different.

‘Sleep Sound’ is one of a double-sided release coming up 5th May on, where else, Young Turks. It’s another late night, sensual jam; the xx but for an after-party rather than a romantic evening with your significant other/others.

For something a little longer, check out the Turks’ FBI Radio Takeover featuring Jamie, Four Tet, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis and Sampha. Mouth-watering.

Lancelot – Givin’ It Up feat. Anthony & Cleopatra (Panda Remix)

You know who’s always copying us? Annie Mac.

In all likelihood after having seen the line-up for Friday’s Human Drizzle Presents, the esteemed Ms. Mac has chosen a Panda remix of Aussie producer Lancelot‘s ‘Anthony & Cleopatra‘ for her latest Free Monday Music. We can only assume this means she’ll be joining us down Dalston way this weekend. She might even be lucky enough to hear more of this teaser from the trio’s new label Bambusa Records, building on this tempting snippet:

Aaaaand, all this comes on the back of their fantastic EP out on Sounds of Sumo a couple of weeks back:

They’ve been busy boys and we’re hyped to have them spinning for us on Friday. Come listen.

DJ Vague – Porsche Trax

Some people have all the luck. Not only is Night Slugs badman Helix an absolute hoot on Twitter, he’s also building quite the rep for his solo production work. Under his DJ Vague alias, he’s put together a three-track EP for Aussie forward thinkers, Templar Sound. Listen to the final track (you can tell by the title) below, along with some snippets of the other two:

Often sub-genre labels are a teensy bit silly, but this one, “muscular, drive-loop techno” hits the nail on the head. We could listen to this all day, and may well do so.

EXCLUSIVE: Black Magic Disco x Human Drizzle mix

If you look up Friday in the dictionary, it would play this mix whilst you read about it being the last day of the working week.

In advance of his appearance at the ONLY Halloween party to be seen at (tickets here), friend of Human Drizzle and dancefloor puppet-master Black Magic Disco has stitched together an hour of tunes to raise the heart-rate. It’s a showcase of the disco and garage infused house he’ll be spinning a week today, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on the bill.

Sia ft The Weeknd & Diplo – Elastic Heart

We at HD can’t confess to knowing loads about the ‘Hunger Games’ films but this tune might pique our interest…

Featuring on the soundtrack for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, ‘Elastic Heart’ from Aussie popster Sia Furler features the talents of producer-extraordinaire Diplo and RnB crooner The Weeknd. It’s nothing to trouble the Boiler Room bookers but it’s certainly cinematic. It won’t surprise you (assuming you’ve given it a spin by now) to learn that Sia co-wrote the smash-hit-doesn’t-cover-it ‘Diamonds’ by Rhianna. Eminently listenable.

Hayden James – Permission To Love

Future Classic have gone and done it again with their latest antipodean signing, Hayden James. His first single, ‘Permission to Love’ has lit up HD HQ with its summer disco-house vibez:

It came out yesterday (quick! go get it!) and comes with a couple of reworkmixedits from Van She’s Michael Di Francesco (under his Touch Sensitive moniker) and Charles Murdoch. Worth a punt.

RAC – Hollywood featuring Penguin Prison (Cassian Remix)

A big thank you to all of you who came down to our party on Saturday night, feels like it’s going to be the first of many. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Hats off to all the acts playing, they provided the perfect soundtrack to some serious shapes thrown. Much appreciated.

Back in the world of new music, attention must be drawn to a particular tune that’s been on repeat for us this weekend. Adding to the pile, yet another remix of RAC’s first single ‘Hollywood (feat Penguin Prison)’ has surfaced, this time by a DJ from down under, Cassian. Light and bouncy, the simple build to this tune should ease you into the week nicely. Download it and other remixes by Treasure Fingers and Escort for free here courtesy of Green Label Sound.

Flume – Sleepless feat. Jezzabell Doran (Shlohmo Remix)

Shlohmo in amazing remix shocker!

Henry Laufer has done it again, twisting fellow beat-maker Flume’s ‘Sleepless’ into a crackling, meandering piece of beautiful low-fi. Our favourite antipodean label, Future Classic, have put this one out, adding to their impressive roster including Poolside, Joakim and Flight Facilities.

The original ain’t half bad either, with a fun video to boot:
