NVOY – All Night

Fresh from a stint playing the We Love series in Ibiza, London duo NVOY are back on home turf with their brand new single ‘All Night’, released on Black Butter Records. And guess what? They’re back just in time to get their heads together for the next Human Drizzle Presents at Basing House on 25th September.

With stabbing synths and an infectious bassline, ‘All Night’ sees the Black Butter duo put their own spin on classic four-to-the-floor house. It’s a catchy number, and having already won the hearts of bloggers and YouTube channels with their previous work, they look destined to follow in the footsteps of similar future house producers such as Blonde and label mates Gorgon City.

We’re delighted to have them playing for us on Friday 25th September, and together with HD fave Ben Gomori, our resident Hot Karl AND a very special guest, it’s set to be a night to remember. Tickets are currently a steal at just £6 over on RA.

See you down the front?

NVOY – Girl

Swirling synths, catchy vocals and fidgety beats are the order of the day from London-based NVOY.

First up, the Black Butter Records-affiliated duo unleashed an exclusive track called ‘Girl’ on Annie Mac’s Free Music Monday service. That one’s free to download. And secondly as they quite rightly put it, their ‘remix of Blonde’s latest single is ready to smash up a club near you’:

Head over to their SoundCloud to keep in the loop. One of their first offerings, ‘You Are’, is being served up as the opener for Black Butter’s ‘Spread Love Volume 5′, a compilation featuring a carefully chosen selection of breakthrough artists. Check out the tune below and cop the release here.

Wayward – Speak On It

Having featured Wayward’s delightful sunsetter ‘Belize’ a few weeks back, we’ve finally got our mitts on the A-side to the Black Butter Records release.

‘Speak On It’ explores another string to the London duo’s bow. They’ve ditched the balearic vibes and Motown samples for a little sense of urgency. The bassline’s got some kick, and with a feisty vocal to match, Wayward’s next lead single is bound to attract new fans.

Out 29th September.

Kidnap Kid – FABRICLIVE Promo Mix

Ahead of next Friday’s Fabriclive, HD regular Kidnap Kid has put together 50 minutes of music to drive you through to 5:30/6/get a life if you’re later than that:

Lining up alongside DJ EZ, The Menendez Brothers and Friend Within, the Black Butter Records DJ is worth the entry fee alone, and this selection shows why.

Speaking of Friend Within (smooth segue), here’s a rework he did of Donna Washington’s ‘Going for the Glow’ that we woulda coulda shoulda posted a couple of weeks back:

Tuck in.

Wayward – Belize

After landing on the HD map last year with one of our best tracks of 2013*, London duo Wayward are back with a peach. ‘Belize’ is laid-back, tropical and that little bit Cafe del Mar. In a good way. Beth Aggett beautifully provides the lung power – if you recognize her, Bondax’s ‘Giving It All’ may be the place.

Make it to the 3 minute mark and you’re in for a treat too.

‘Belize’ is the B-side to their upcoming release ‘Speak On It’. Out on Black Butter Records.

*Here’s that gem from last year, ‘Love Jones’:

Kidnap Kid – Stronger

We’ve been on a bit of a Black Butter hype recently and, frankly, it’s not our fault if they keep putting out winners. Kidnap Kid, who thrilled us with ‘Survive’ last year, has done it again:

‘Stronger’ is six and a half minutes of a slightly darker, deeper strain of piano house. It has the requisite lifting synths but laid on top of a more subterranean, throbbing bassline.

The Kid’s supporting Clean Bandit and Disclosure this year so expect to see a lot more of your boy Matt Relton.

Panda – Harmony Fifth

Who doesn’t eat bamboo or have black eyes, but does make great house music? It’s Panda, otherwise known as Callum, Benny and Charlie, HD’s new favourite producers. They’ve provided the standout track of the new Black Butter Records compilation, ‘Harmony Fifth’ and it gives you a neat guide to the autumnal house these three are putting out:

And, just to show off, we’ve had a sneak listen of their upcoming Rewind EP (out on Sounds of Sumo 21st January) and it’s more of the same i.e. more good tunes. Courtesy of Eton Messy, here’s a third of it:

Kidnap Kid – Survive

This is a real special delivery from Kidnap Kid.

Having featured the uber-soulful ‘Thin Lines’ just last week, we’ve now been treated to the Yorkshireman’s B-side to said single. It’s called ‘Survive’ and is going to be released on the increasingly popular Black Butter Records (think Rudimental, Clean Bandit, Drums Of Death). It’s a slow burner but the infectious vocal and catchy synths catch up with you in the end. More please…

Kidnap Kid – Thin Lines feat. Lotti

Released on June 30th on London’s Black Butter Records, here’s Kidnap Kid’s new one, ‘Thin Lines’. Lotti provides the lung power on this soulful, summer jam. If you recognise her dulcet tones, it’ll be from Foamo’s new track ‘Release Me’, which is out now on Rinse Recordings. Busy girl.

Joel Compass – Fucked Up (Huxley Remix)

Huxley’s remix of Joel Compass’s soulful ‘Fucked Up’ is a proper naughty little house number. Complete with Huxley’s trademark garage touch, it will feature on South Londoner Joel’s forthcoming ‘Astronaut EP’ – also featuring Back to Me – a hugely anticipated release on Black Butter Records in June. Keep your eyes peeled for that, and your ears open for what is an absolute belter from Huxley. We bloody love it.
