Lovely stuff from Anjunadeep-affiliate Croquet Club.
‘You Left Me’ is the final track off the French producer’s forthcoming ‘Love Exposure’ EP and joins the recently-uploaded ‘Careless Love’, two super-chilled tracks perfect for that poolside playlist you’ve been working on.
The EP’s out on 17th June, get your pre-orders in here.
Ahead of his forthcoming debut album ‘Rise’, Anjunadeep’s Lane 8 has recently dropped his collaboration with the one and only Matthew Dear entitled ‘Undercover’. Famous also for his legendary Audion guise, musical polymath Matthew Dear here brings his distinctive vocal touch to this dreamy number.
‘Rise’ features collaborations with Lulu James, Solomon Grey and Patrick Baker and includes the singles ‘Diamonds’, ‘Hot As You Want’ and ‘Ghost’. It’s out on 17th July.
Bem-vindo para o fim de semana…
Unless you happen to speak Google Translate Portuguese (we’re on a World Cup tip right now), that means…Welcome to the weekend.
This fresh one from Jeremy Villecourt aka Croquet Club is a mood-setter for your Friday/Saturday night(s). ‘Jacuzzi’ is the title track from his upcoming eponymous EP on the ever-reliable Anjunadeep, and it’s an enjoyable four and half minutes of French vocal house. Watch for the kick around two mins in, weighty.
Shouts to Anjunabeats for spreading the good word of Lane 8. Regular readers will know he’s up there amongst our favourites, and having made the move to Europe from the US, he decided sub-label Anjunadeep was the right place to release his excellent EP, ‘The One’.
So good were his efforts, label heads Above & Beyond have recruited his skills on their next release, ‘Sticky Fingers’. It’s a tad on the emo side, but once again showcases his crisp production skills nicely. This’ll be good for the sun-downers.
Couple of new ones to tide you over your Valentine’s day afternoons.
First up a remix of a remix. San Francisco’s and Dirty Bird’s Justin Martin has taken to Four Tet’s remix of Ultraista ‘Small Talk’. Justin announced on Twitter yesterday afternoon that he had a present for them, thanking them for loyal support and then it appeared, much to everyone’s relief. Check it and download for free.
Justin will be in the UK at the start of next month. Probably worth catching him if at all possible.
Then another remix from Isaac Tichauer who can do no wrong in our eyes, and has been on sublime form of late. Here we have a joint effort, working the B side of the recently released Lancelot track ‘Givin’ It Up’ with Nibc. It’s a mid-set, roller, with an old school beat and a simple piano loop. Top, top work once again. Out on Monday.
You know who’s always copying us? Annie Mac.
In all likelihood after having seen the line-up for Friday’s Human Drizzle Presents, the esteemed Ms. Mac has chosen a Panda remix of Aussie producer Lancelot‘s ‘Anthony & Cleopatra‘ for her latest Free Monday Music. We can only assume this means she’ll be joining us down Dalston way this weekend. She might even be lucky enough to hear more of this teaser from the trio’s new label Bambusa Records, building on this tempting snippet:
Aaaaand, all this comes on the back of their fantastic EP out on Sounds of Sumo a couple of weeks back:
They’ve been busy boys and we’re hyped to have them spinning for us on Friday. Come listen.
Featuring the wistful vocals of Lucy Stone, this demonstrates yet again Lane 8’s ability to pen a feel-good tune. The title track is more of a slow-burning deep house track, but it’s no less good. The EP comes armed with a remix from Austrian duo Klangkarussell and the whole package hits the shelves February 10th.
For the longer listen, check out this recent mix he’s done for Anjunadeep which features HD faves Clancy and Bodhi, amongst others.
PS. Londoners (or not, if you’re keen) – Lane 8’s playing alongside Isaac Tichauer and Hackman at The Nest on April 4th. Get down there. Guaranteed fun, that.
