George FitzGerald’s given Lil Silva’s recent single ‘Lines’ the once over. Chopping up samples over an infectious beat, GF retains the atmosphere of the original whilst ensuring the tune’s dancefloor-ready.
Lil Silva’s six track ‘Jimi’ EP hits the shelves on 6th May via Good Years Music.
While we were putting the final touches on a glorious night of dance music at Basing House last Friday (pics to follow), Scuba was busy remixing his ol’ buddy George.
George Fitzgerald’s first full-length back in April signified a shift away from the dancefloor, swapping the big-room basslines of ‘Child’ for the impassioned crooning of Lawrence Hart. Scuba reaches out to all the disenfranchised tech-house heads with this one, ensuring his mate’s by-the-beach cut stands the test of the warehouse session ahead.
We like both, check out the original below.
Unsurprisingly, delivered to you by one of 2013’s most talked abouts, Paul Woolford (it’s still sounding good, isn’t it?) He’s tweaked George FitzGerald’s ‘I Can Tell (By The Way You Move)’ into a piano-laden thumper.
Keep your eyes peeled for Woolford’s next release under his Special Request moniker. An LP entitled ‘Soul Music’ is being released on 7th October.
George FitzGerald’s ‘Nighttide Lover’ is the second track from his ‘Thinking Of You’ 12’’, released this week on Hotflush Recordings. Following in the footsteps of the title track, it features the infectious thumping tone that FitzGerald is slowly carving out as his trademark sound. The vocal stays with you too.
We’re looking forward to hearing this get an airing.
Both George FitzGerald and KiNK have been commandeered to give a helping hand on Deetron’s new single ‘Out Of My Head’. Testament to how good the original is, the catchy vocal remains intact on both, but it’s the pulsating drive on FitzGerald’s remix that really shines for us. The man’s in fine form. All out today on Music Man Records.
If you managed to miss (silly you) the excellent Scuba B2B George Fitzgerald Boiler Room mix Hotflush hosted the other night, we suggest you go give it a good listen. On it you will find George FitzGerald’s new release, ‘Thinking Of You’ which is out on 18th March taking pride of place as Hotflush’s 40th release. This one is wonderfully serious.
Featuring tracks from Shadow Child, Locked Groove, Dusky and of course a couple by the man himself, this is the perfect warm-up (for his appearance this weekend, of just for your normal, less good weekend).
