Disclosure’s very own Method Records has just spawned a new imprint, Method White. It’s an outlet for some of their favourites from the underground electronic music scene, and who better to kick off the series of one-off releases than Swedish producer-extraordinaire and French Express stalwart, Jonas Rathsman.
This one’s a mover and is prime for the dancefloor. No release date on it yet, but keep your eyes peeled on Method White for more details.
First unveiled in his Boiler Room set last year, we’re finally treated to Jonas Rathsman’s ‘Skepparkrans’, or ‘Skipper Wreath’ for the non-Swedes amongst you.
This toe-tapping affair is all high-hats and looped vocals and serves to be the 41st release from French Express, it’s a real grower.
While we’re on it, fellow French Express templar Isaac Tichauer has recently dropped his July mixtape, may be worth a visit:
One to get lost in, there’s a decent drive behind Isaac Tichauer’s new one, ‘Questions’. It’s the (slightly darker) B-side to the summer jam ‘Changes’, that we featured the other day. As always with the Australian producer, French Express are behind this one and you can get your hands on the release April 15th.
They’re always so crisp.
The 39th release from French Express comes in the form of Isaac Tichauer’s first single of 2014, and as expected it’s a real delight. It’s the kind of smooth house we’ve come to love from the US label and this one ain’t any different – a controlled tempo and soulful atmos make it a sure-fire winner in sunnier climes to come.

Moon Boots’ first offering of 2014 ‘C.Y.S’ is being released by the wonderful French Express. Yet again, they are giving this away for free, download it here. The catchy, soulful bop is just what your Wednesday’s after:
This new Lane 8 track should really propel him to the household name he deserves to be. Regular readers of these pages will know – we like him a lot and are stoked that the US super-label French Express have recruited him for this next release.

Look sharp, Swedish house master Jonas Rathsman is back with a brand new beat. He’s returned to the superlative French Express to release ‘Feel What I Feel’. Akin to previous material, Rathsman’s crafted a soulful tune with his trademark RnB vocal intact. It comes out on October 29th, a day before French Express take over the LA branch of Boiler Room – one to put in the diary.

2. Joel Compass – Fucked Up (Huxley remix): Huxley does his thing on newcomer Joel Compass, with predictably great results.
3. Ben Pearce – Patticakes: The Purp & Soul bossman dishes up a summer disco jam.
4. Moon Boots – Love Strong: The latest on the French Express giveaway production line, and it’s glorious.
5. Holy Other – Held (Fort Romeau remix): South London’s Mike Norris going all hypnotic house on Holy Other.
Chicago’s Moon Boots has managed to put together a whole load of fun in his new track, ‘Love Strong’. With a glorious piano chord intact, it’s got that care-free, summer vibe we’re all after (well, we are: aren’t you? You should be). One of our favourite labels French Express are giving this away for free. Get it done, it’s feel-good.
Two top mixes for the longer listen. Isaac Tichauer from the highly praised French Express family is first up with his March 2013 mix, there aren’t many bad moments in there. A particular stand out is the irresistible ‘It’s You’ by FCL which clocks in within the first quarter. If you’ve not already, go check out his French Express peers’ Jonas Rathsman and Perseus’ Essential Mix from back in Jan for some more feel good beats.
Secondly The Magician’s released his Magic Tape 31. It kicks off with Duke Dumont’s stunning new remix and look out for Clancy’s new one ‘All Just In My Mind’ a little over the half way point, super excited for this one to be released.
