Little Dragon – Paris (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Holiday Edit)

Anything that has “Holiday” in the title sounds pretty good to us right now.

This one’s got more than a wishful name though. Your boy Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur has produced a dancefloor-orientated, bass-heavy remix of single du jour, ‘Paris’ by Little Dragon. TEED’s reworks tend to be weightier than his solo stuff and this is no different, despite a melodic emergence of sorts around half way through.

Catch Little Dragon at all festivals, everywhere, this summer.

Little Dragon – Precious (Pional Darkness Impression)

Pional’s Soundcloud sprang to life yesterday with this little gem:

The Catalan wizard (first time someone who isn’t a Barcelona player’s been called that?)’s chosen name hits the nail on the head. It’s the type of tune that makes you want to shut your eyes and sway purposefully in a dimly lit room. Immersive.

Rhye – The Fall (Little Dragon On Rhye)

Los Angeles duo Rhye are record-holders at Human Drizzle. No fewer than three different remixes of their lovely single, ‘Open’, appeared on these pages earlier this year – the most of any track ever. No doubt spurred on by this prestigious accolade, they’re back with ‘The Fall’, featuring Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano on vocals. People got very excited when Gilles Peterson played this ‘Little Dragon on Rhye’ version of the track on his 6music show recently, and with good reason. How different it is from the original version which has been knocking about for 8 months now becomes something of a moot point once you start enjoying its frankly charming strings section. Lovely stuff.

Little Dragon – Little Man (Clancy’s Deep Haze Remix)

It warms the cockles to see this remix surface. Not only does Clancy give us a sweet reminder of ‘Ritual Union’, the fantastic album Little Dragon stunned us with back in 2011. But also, he takes the second track off said album and (as it says on the tin) gives it a deep and hazy rework. Laid-back yet urgent, this is an instant classic.

This is the first we’ve heard from Clancy since the latter part of our summer was soundtracked by the fantastic ‘Make Up’ and ‘Lightbox’. Both, we hope you’ll agree, are delightful:

Rhye – The Fall (BRONX Night Dub)

Breezy remix here from BRONX. With the help of an assortment of keyboard tones, the Mexican producer has taken on Californian indie stars Rhye’s ‘The Fall’, injecting it with a totally blissed out feel. Head over to his Facebook to get the tune for free in exchange for a Like.

Besides posting the glorious Little Dragon and Rhye mash up back in June, we’re racking up a fair few Rhye remixes on these pages. Namely from Rhode & Brown, Jeff Samuel and Ryan Hemsworth. Here’s a recap:

Human Drizzle Presents

Human Drizzle Presents

We’re super excited to announce the details for our next party. The second instalment of ‘Human Drizzle Presents…’ is taking place on Friday 5th April at The Bussey Building in Peckham. Tickets are currently a steal at £6 a pop; grab yours now from Resident Advisor on the following link:

And tell your friends to come too here:

We’re welcoming four acts over the course of the evening to get your feet a shufflin’.

If you’re not clued up on who these chaps are, or want to remind yourself of their talents, here’s a handy guide of what to expect.

First up is Harry Wolfman, who started causing a stir a year ago with his breakthrough hit ‘Don’t You Know’.

Since then he’s released an EP for Purp & Soul and whilst at it caused some hot fuss for remixing label boss Ben Pearce’s classic ‘What I Might Do’. He’s just dropped his second EP, ‘Booty Call’, and it’s got some serious groove, neatly blending deep house with some nice garage touches. Feast your ears:

Regular readers will appreciate we’re pretty stoked to have Clancy playing. His Little Dragon remix from last year is pretty much faultless and his latest track ‘How To Hold On To You’ has already become one of our most-played tracks of this year. We’ve also caught wind of some new releases in the not-too-distant future. Get excited.

Coming to you from Cape Town via Manchester is Alex Blaxx, who is forging quite the name for himself on the underground house scene. His debut release ‘The Evening Fly’ has already received support from the likes of Bicep and Huxley, and DJ Mag were so impressed with him they invited him to work a set alongside Space Dimension Controller. 2013 looks set to be a very promising year for him.

Last and by no means least we have London-based Real (a.k.a. Boean), who wowed us with ‘My Resignation’ towards the end of last year, an EP of post-everything goodness. Having played a wicked set just a few weeks ago for i-D magazine at XOYO, we are pumped to now have him playing for us. Here are two tracks by the young lad, one old one featuring a Lauryn Hill vocal and a new one forthcoming on XVI Records entitled ‘Don’t Need Ya Love’.

See you there.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, February 2013

See ya later January. You’ve been a blast, NOT. It actually hasn’t been that bad, largely thanks to the surplus of bangers that have been foisted on us. Click below for all of HD’s essential listens from 01/13. We’ve also agonised over a Top 5 from the month which you can wholeheartedly agree with on our facebook or twitter.

1. Bodhi – Deliquiesce: Those boys from Wales stole our hearts this month with their big room bouncy house. Disclosure, you’ve got some competition…

2. Clancy – How To Hold On To You: This freebie from Londoner Clancy reminded us why we love his stuff. A strong follow-up to his Little Dragon remix.

3. Fryars – In My Arms (Fort Romeau Remix): Top remix of the month from your boy Fort Romeau, he turns an uplifting tune into an even more uplifting tune.

4. Gabrielle Aplin – Please Don’t Say You Love Me (Cyril Hahn Remix): “A dreamy sense of nostalgia”. Yes please.

5. Lindstrom & Terje – Lanzarote: Nailed-on banger. ” I wanna go to Lazarote…”

Clancy – How To Hold On To You

Back in October, London producer Clancy released a ‘Deep Haze Remix’ of the catchy ‘Little Man’ by Little Dragon. It turned out to be an understated masterpiece, and we’ve been playing it on repeat ever since. It just so happens that his new track ‘How To Hold On To You’ is similarly addictive. It’s full of rising synths and yearning vocals, all supported by a cracking 90s piano riff. What’s more, he’s giving away it for free, just click here to download it. Check it, and his previous jam, below.
