Top 5 Tracks of the Week

1. Howling – Phases: Flawless supergroup Howling are back with ‘Phases’, the brooding and atmospheric Counter Records-released single from their forthcoming album. They’re playing the Village Underground 15th April, not one to miss.

2. Pépe – Linda’s Retreat: Brighton-based (via Valencia?) producer Pépe dropped this twinkling cascade of goodness earlier on in the week. Release details unknown but catch him at a number of dates at Brighton’s Patterns or Mono, or Honey Moon on the 23rd March for the Londoners (wherever that is).

3. Poolside – Everything Goes: Poolside play this at all of their gigs. Every single one. It’s totally feel-good and they’ve finally self-released it.

4. Auntie Flo – Waiting For A Woman Feat. Anbuley (The Revenge Rework / Dixon Beat Edit): The 2015-released ‘Theory Of Flo’ is getting the remix treatment with efforts from Kornél Kovács, Throwing Shade and Mark E. This Dixon edit of The Revenge’s remix is a highlight from said release, out on the Auntie Flo-affiliated Huntleys & Palmers / Highlife.

5. Roland Tings – Slow Centre: The producer from down under reportedly described his recent single as ‘a 7-minute ride in a cloud. The sound of being hit by lightning. An ode to the pioneers of hypnotic minimalism. A lo-fi computer generated image of a Xylophone rendered in eye splitting high definition.’ It’s that and a whole lot more, featured on the ‘Each Moment A Diamond‘ EP out today on Cascine.

For the longer listen, the latest instalment in the Gottwood mix series comes from Afrobeat producer Dele Sosimi, who with his Afrobeat Orchestra will be headlining the Lawn Stage there this Summer. If this is anything to go by, that could be a festival highlight.

Head over to our SoundCloud or Twitter for more gems from Lane 8 and Kidnap Kid, Solomun and Al Zanders.
