Daniel Avery – Knowing You’ll Be Here (KiNK Remix)

Daniel Avery is a pretty big deal nowadays. There are many standout moments on his debut album ‘Drone Logic’ – the opening track ‘Water Jump’ and the title track are just two. But our personal favourite is the album’s concluding tune, ‘Knowing We’ll Be Here’, an epic track that reminds us of The Chemical Brothers at their festival-dominating best.

Now, Bulgarian producer KiNK has done a remix job on it, and absolutely smashed it out the park. There’s no two ways about it really: this will be one of the tracks of the summer in our eyes.

Out on various formats through the month of June. If you’re one of our readers from North America, go and see Daniel Avery whilst you can. His tour there runs until the end of May. We saw him on NYE and we can’t recommend it enough.

Deetron – Out Of My Head (George FitzGerald & KiNK Remix)

Both George FitzGerald and KiNK have been commandeered to give a helping hand on Deetron’s new single ‘Out Of My Head’. Testament to how good the original is, the catchy vocal remains intact on both, but it’s the pulsating drive on FitzGerald’s remix that really shines for us. The man’s in fine form. All out today on Music Man Records.

Found Festival – Saturday 13th June, Brockwell Park

Just a few days now until Found Festival hits Brockwell Park in South London. More than 80% of all tickets are now sold out, so you best get to it if you’re keen to join the fun this Saturday.

Brixton’s in for a shock, there’s a killer line-up of DJs spanning across all 5 stages. Here’s a few of our favourites that are getting us in the mood:

Motor City Drum Ensemble:

The idea of listening to the kind of soulful, disco-influenced sets MCDE likes to throw down on a Saturday afternoon in a park is a really exciting one. Make sure you’re at the main stage between 3 & 4 pm.

Guy Gerber:

The genius from Tel Aviv that is Guy Gerber is heading up the main stage from 7.30pm and taking the festival to it’s close 90 minutes later. Need we say more.

The prolific DJ and producer is playing a live set from 4.30pm on George FitzGerald’s specially-curated stage. If it’s even half as good as this Boiler Room set we’re in for a treat.

The Black Madonna:

The DJ, producer and chief booker at Chicago’s Smart Bar will be flying over the pond to play the ‘Feelings’ stage at half 2 in the afternoon. Alongside other HD faves Francis Inferno Orchestra and Ron Trent, she’ll be playing an undoubtedly eclectic 90-minute set. Check out the lively set she did for Beats In Space for a taster:

Dekmantel Soundsytem:

The busy label and promoters from Amsterdam consisting of Casper Tielrooij, Jan van Kampen and Thomas Martojo will be bringing their fine selections to George FitzGerald’s stage from midday. It’s early but it’ll be worth it.

They also run Dekmantel Festival which takes place in Amsterdam in August and is featured in our festival feature we posted t’other day. Check it out.

Found Festival 2015

Saturday 13th June – a date for the diary. Found Festival returns in the new environs of Brockwell Park in Brixton. Same top line-up, different grassy patch to dance on.

Your boy George Fitzgerald heads up a stage this year and, propped up by big boys like Barnt and KiNK, we’re sure he’ll bring the house down. His recently released album would appear to confirm that:

To be honest, the KiNK live show is worth the entrance fee alone (this is almost too good to watch/listen to at work):

The pick of the other stages is NTS’s effort, a showcase of their deep bench of DJs. Bossman Mr Wonderful and globetrotter Bradley Zero will undoubtedly on the money.

Basically, see you there. The perfect pick-me-up as memories of this begin to fade…

Tief presents Beats In Space 15th Anniversary

BIS 2Attention Londoners! What you doing Friday 26th September? Nothing? Get yourselves down Elephant & Castle way, there’s a night you do not want to be missing.

As part of a global tour covering the US, Japan, Mexico and Europe, Tim Sweeney and his merry men are celebrating 15 years of his Beats In Space radio show. Luckily for us, Tief are promoting the London leg at Corsica Studios and with the line-up they’ve put together, it’s going to be CLASS.

If you’re unfamiliar with BIS, way back in ‘99, then New York University freshman Tim Sweeney hit the airwaves of WNYU 89.1 with the radio show, Beats In Space. In the 15 years he’s been running it, he’s not once missed the Tuesday night slot, playing host to a whole range of guest mixes from the likes of Four Tet, Midland, Gui Boratto, KiNK and John Talabot.

Besides securing a legendary home for broadcasting eclectic, cutting edge music on a weekly basis, Sweeney set up a label for BIS in 2009, and having seen releases from Lauer, Paradis and Jee Day amongst others, he’s further developed the brand’s reputation for discovering top quality, new music.

We’ve seen the DFA Records-affiliated DJ play before many times and he never disappoints. Joining him next Friday is a stellar line-up consisting of Axel Boman, Tornado Wallace, Hunee going b2b with Mr Ties, and Tief stalwart Hessletime.

Need we say more?

Get your tickets here, and delve into the below for a taster of the night.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, Eastern Electrics 2014

eastern-electrics-2014Earlier this month, we went off on one about the re-imagined Eastern Electrics festival, taking place Saturday 2nd August. A stellar line up of techno and house talent touching down in leafy Hertfordshire, record bags fully loaded with prized gems that are absolutely sure to knock your socks off. Tickets here. Tickets here. And tickets here.

Being the considerate people that we are, we thought we’d lob together 90 minutes worth of tracks that best represent our favourites producers from the Eastern Electrics programme. We think this shows that we are absolutely buzzing at the prospect of getting down to Hatfield House for 11 hours of some of the finest dance music you’ll find anywhere.

Given the strength of the Eastern Electrics brand, it’s no surprise that they’ve been able to curate such a quality line-up. In our EXCLUSIVE playlist below, you’ll find offerings from HD faves T. Williams, Waifs & Strays, Mano Le Tough and Waze & Odyssey, not to mention one of the tunes of last year from Agoria, and arguably one of 2014’s best offerings from KiNK and Daniel Avery.

The fun doesn’t end there. Main stagers Maxxi Soundsystem, Steve Lawler, Art Department and house legend Kerri Chandler all have their say, and we cap things off with Route 94 and Dense & Pika.

Need some more? Well, we’re spent, but we suggest you join us on the 22 minute journey from King’s Cross out to the countryside on 2 August for a day of sun-fuelled 4/4 frivolity. For those that missed it the first, second and third times, here’s the ticket link again. But be hasty, they’re running out fast…

Over to you.
