Tensnake – Feel Of Love (Joe Goddard Remix)

Joe Goddard’s back adding his magic touch to Tensnake’s new single ‘Feel Of Love’. The German producer originally made the tune with heavyweights Jamie Lidell and Jacques Lu Cont, and now the 2 Bears and Hot Chip producer has stretched it out and soaked the tune in carnival vibes. It goes on and on, and it still isn’t long enough.*

Jokes vid for the original too:

*If you’re London-based and want that little bit more, we highly recommend getting down to The Nest this Friday night for Goddard’s weighty 5-hour set. It’s already sold out but we hear there’s plenty of tickets on the door.

Joe Goddard – Endless Love feat. Betsy

Here’s the title track of Mr Joe Goddard’s brand new EP, ‘Endless Love’.

Being the fan of collaboration that the Hot Chip and 2 Bears member is, he’s roped in Betsy to provide the vocal on this hypnotic house number. We don’t know a lot about her, but her soulful tones can also be heard on the sister track to ‘Endless Love’, ‘Make It Right’.  They sit nicely alongside three other dancefloor-inspired tracks on the ‘Endless Love’ EP, which is out now on Greco-Roman. Grab a copy here.

Welcome back Joe, summer anthem in the making wethinks.

BLONDE – Foolish (Joe Goddard Remix)

We gave props to Blonde’s ‘Foolish’ a couple of weeks back and now, thanks to Annie Mac’s Free Music Monday, we have the icing on that particular cake:

Joe Goddard’s taken time out from his 2 Bears residency at XOYO to stretch and mould this one. He’s retained the funky house groove from the original but given it some dancing shoes and sent it out clubbing with instructions not to come back until the next morning.

Essentially, it’s good and it’s free. Say no more.

Indiana – Solo Dancing (Joe Goddard Remix)

Singers everywhere, take note. After uploading a cover of Joe Goddard‘s ‘Gabriel’, Nottingham’s Indiana got picked up by big music bosses, and now here she is remixed by the man himself! What a story! What a tune!

As ever, JG’s done a job, teasing out the strengths of Indiana’s voice and underpinning it all with a moody groove. Now, where’s that Human Drizzle cover of ‘White Noise’…

London Grammar – Nightcall (Joe Goddard Remix)

The calm before the storm.

Joe Goddard continues to be on our radar after a series of top remixes and releases in 2013.

He’s at it again here, remixing London Grammar’s ‘Nightcall’. Like his recent editing of Breach and Andreya Triana’s ‘Everything You Never Had‘, this is a melodic and measured tune.

For those we are seeing later at Peckham Palais, we suggest sticking this on and gathering your thoughts in this final hour of work, before getting your game face on for the main event later.

Joe Goddard & Boris Dlugosch – Step Together (Alternate Version)

We’ve had a fair amount of Joe Goddard on these pages of late, but we wanted to draw your attention to the ‘Alternate Version’ of ‘Step Together’, Joe’s collaboration with Hamburgian house legend Boris Dlugosch.

We can’t put our finger on what it is about this one, but it’s been on repeat since it surfaced late last night. Please take it for a spin on us. The original was taken from the excellent ‘Taking Over’ EP released earlier this summer. That features the excellent ‘She Burns’ feat. Marla Carlyle, a tune we keep returning too. And it also has the absolutely brilliant ‘Bassline 12”’ which seems to offer something different every time you go back to it.

Chuck in the previously featured remix of ‘Control’ by Disclosure, and I think it’s fair to say that Joe Goddard is definitely on form right now.

Bondax – Giving it All (Joe Goddard Remix)

Joe Goddard, he of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears, has gone and shown us/the world why he’s also one of our favourite remixers out there. You know, besides the two successful groups he’s in.

He’s stepped into a crowded field and reworked ‘Giving it All’ by Lancaster’s finest, Bondax. This is in advance of guesting at their debut London show (together with LOADS of other HD faves):

If you like the rhythmic, chiming flow of Goddard’s work then enjoy these two. We’re going to pop them both on right now:

Dirty Projectors – The Socialites (Joe Goddard Remix)

It’s been a while since we’ve heard the busy bee that is Joe Goddard flex his remixing skills. The man who is one half of 2 Bears and one fifth of Hot Chip has captured Amber Coffman’s quirky vocals beautifully on this remix. It’s out on Domino and sits nicely on a Dirty Projectors’ remix EP, also featuring AlunaGeorge and Falty DL. Tasty.

Nneka – Shining Star (Joe Goddard Remix)

Nneka first came to our attention when Chase & Status propelled her into the public eye by remixing her track ‘Heartbeat’ back in 2009. Now, just after the release of her new album ‘Soul Is Heavy’, her track ‘Shining Star‘ has been remixed by someone who may just propel her a little further.

Who better to give your work some nip and tuck than King Midas himself, Joe Goddard. Most of the things he’s done over the last 18 months have been nothing short of stellar. He has released a host of remixes, penned one of the biggest tunes of last year in ‘Gabriel’, produced consistent bangers with 2 Bears, and remained a key member of the Hot Chip crew.

This remix may be a sum total of 9 minutes and 2 seconds long. But bear (ahem) with it. Once you’re in, it’s absolutely stunning and could be a contender for our favourite tune of the year thus far. The accompanying army of percussion he’s embedded into this soulful pop tune turns it into an uplifting, pensive, progressive and perfect song. Enjoy.

Top 5 Tracks of the Week

1. DJ Yellow – Ride The Rhythm (Ian Pooley Remix): Ian Pooley adds his Midas touch to this Marshall Jefferson cover from Paris-based DJ Yellow. Compost Records doing the business on this party-starter.

2. Joe Goddard – Music Is The Answer: Joe Goddard’s sophomore solo album ‘Electric Lines’ is coming out on 21st April on Greco-Roman/Domino, and with tunes this catchy it’s certainly one to look out for. For the Londoners amongst you, catch his next solo live show at Heaven on 4th May.

3. Thundercat – Show You The Way (feat. Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins): Thundercat dropped this smooth-as-you-like number featuring the legendary Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald earlier on in the week. It’s a little precursor to his hefty global tour and star-filled LP due out in March – Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell are a just a few of the names featured on the team sheet. Stay tuned.

4. Yaki Incipient – Cracked: This is the second release on new label South Street (see Urulu’s offering for the first) and it’s penned by Yaki Incipient, supposedly an already ‘prominent Dutch house and techno artist’. Mystery aliases aside, the tune’s a thumper and we can’t get enough of the infectious disco loop.

5. Marquis Hawkes – The Burning Light: Marquis Hawkes returns to Aus Music on 10th February with ‘The Sweet Temptation’ EP. ‘The Burning Light’ is the first taster of five tracks in total and it’s sounding euphoric.

Mix of the week’s from London-based Renata and her offering to the Gottwood mix series, just over sixty minutes of balearic goodness, global flavours and chugging house:

Head over to our SoundCloud page for more of our favourite music including recent tracks from Jacques Greene, Gidge and Fold, amongst others.
