Sau Poler – OHCT

Your own birthday is meant for receiving and not giving, right?

Not in Sau Poler’s book. The Barcelona-based producer has decided to give away this club-ready track he made a few months ago to celebrate. Pop over to his SoundCloud to download the bumpin’ track for free now.

Happy Birthday, SP. You’re too kind.

Seems like a good enough a reason as any to revisit his excellent 5-track ‘Memorabilia’ EP released back in April on the Dutch label Atommnation.

Go on, listen to every track. It’s a wonder.

Geowulf – Saltwater

If you’re into your dreamy pop then this one’s for you:

Geowulf are a London-based band originally hailing from the Sunshine coast in Australia, and ‘Saltwater’ is their first single to date. It’s due to appear on 37 Adventures’ forthcoming compilation ‘Odd Numbers Volume 1’ – the label is home to recent stars Jones, Deptford Goth and Royce Wood Junior so we’d recommend keeping your eyes peeled for that one.

And if this refreshing single is anything to go by, we’d recommend keeping your eyes peeled on Geowulf too. More please…

There’s a lot of good stuff in there, enjoy!

Marlon Hoffstadt – Coach Mike (Massimiliano Pagliara Remix)

The Live At The Robert Johnson and Panorama Bar regular is back on remix duties, adding his Midas Touch to Marlon Hoffstadt’s ‘Coach Mike’. The tune escalates at a lovely pace, MassPag intertwining disco and acid house wonderfully.

Original’s worth your time too:

Both are out on Marlon Hoffstadt’s own Berlin-based label, Retrograde. 1st August’s the date to bookmark.

Floating Points – For Marmish Part II

This one’s nearly quarter of an hour long. It’s the B-side to Floating points’ forthcoming ‘Kuiper’ EP – the vinyl for which is released on Friday 22nd July, look sharp.

The Green Door All Stars – Beat The Drum (Auntie Flo Remix)

The Youth Stand Up! project was a musical collaboration bringing together young musicians from Belize, Ghana and Scotland. Tracks were conceived in Glasgow’s Green Door Studio and then through a series of workshops and recording sessions, the masterminds behind the album worked with both the Lebeha Drumming Centre in Belize and the Tafi Cultural Institute in Ghana to create an album that was later released on JD Twitch from Optimo’s label Autonomous Africa in late 2015.

Four of the tracks from said release have been remixed by JD Twitch himself, Midland, General Ludd and Auntie Flo, the latter of which is a real highlight for us with its off-kilter, chopped up vocals and stretched-out, hazy undertones.

You can buy the release here, all proceeds go to the Lebeha Drumming Centre and the Tafi Cultural Institute.

OJPB – E-Lane 2 Troy

Infectious disco loops and nigh-tribal vocals are the order of play on the next release on Tensnake’s True Romance label. It’s by French-born Olivier Borziex otherwise known as OJPB and it’s called ‘E Lane 2 Troy’.

It’s fun (and out now).

Beesmunt Soundsystem – Opium

Dutch duo Beesmunt Soundsystem have jumped over this side of the channel to join South London label Church’s growing list of successful and eclectic releases.

‘Opium’ is the second taster from their forthcoming ‘Afterglow’ EP and it’s a total earworm. It’ll join four other cuts including one remix from Mosey. Hits the shelves 5th August, get your pre-orders in here.

Mount Liberation Unlimited – Maiden Voyage

Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space is the label behind Mount Liberation Unlimited’s third release, ‘(Eerie) For Your Love’. The Swedish duo have prepped a two track-EP amounting to nearly twenty minutes of ‘eccentric, eclectic and electric crescendos’ – grab a copy here.

You can watch the vid for A-side ‘(Eerie) For Your Love’ here, otherwise plug into the hypnotic and slow-building ‘Maiden Voyage’ below:

Hard to believe this gem was released over two years ago:

Laurence Guy – Bamboo EP

One year on from his debut, Laurence Guy makes his return to South London’s Church label to release the 4-track ‘Bamboo’ EP which hits the shelves today!

Intricate sounds of guitar, trumpet and piano litter the sample-heavy, predominantly smooth and oft-times jazzy release. It’s laidback house and nothing short of what we’ve come to expect from the ‘purveyor of all things sleazy’.

If you want to catch the lad IRL, TODAY, he and the Church crew will be doing an in-store session at Sounds Of The Universe between 6pm and 7.30pm to promote the release. Free entry, why not? And if unable to, his recent Rinse FM show may suffice:
