Fort Romeau Remixes

Your boy Fort Romeau is in demand! Three dreamy new remixes from the South Londoner…

First up, he intertwines his usual dose of slow-building, synth-laden mastery to German duo Adana Twins latest collaboration with Human Life, ‘Perspective’. Akin to most of FR’s work, the track really flourishes in the latter stages. Courtesy of Exploited, add it to your collection here.

Below, the excellent Permanent Vacation’s new signing Kauf has commandeered the South Londoner to inject a dose of sunshine into ‘Through The Yard’.

Out yesterday.

Last up, Australian artist Ry X’s new single, ‘Deliverance’ gets the once over ahead of its release on 6th May on Infectious Music. Lovely stuff:

Wilson Tanner – Long Water

Melbourne producer Andras Fox has teamed up with fellow Australian Eleventeen Eston to create an eight track release oozing with hazy, ambient soundscapes all inspired by a recent sojourn the pair took where the Swan River meets the Indian Ocean in WA:

The whole thing sounds like a dream, it’s out now on Growing Bin Records.

Tensnake – Desire

Inspired by his recent sojourn in Malaysia, ‘Desire’ is the brand new cut from Tensnake ahead of his forthcoming EP of the same name, due for release on 22nd April on his own label, True Romance.

Pre-orders here.

Midland – Blush

Hook alert.

Midland’s been a busy chap recently. Not only has he been shifting some catchy disco cuts on his sample-based ReGraded sub-label, he’s also been pushing the buttons for his side project AKASE (the !K7 Records-released debut album ‘Graspers’ is well worth your time).

We’re pleased to see him return to his original Graded label to release the three track ‘Blush’ EP. You may recognise the above from his Boiler Room set at Dekmantel last year, but get ready to hear a lot more of ‘Blush’ as its impending release is sure to be popular when festival season really kicks in.

If you’re in the market for something a little longer (and have already rinsed his contribution to the Essential Mix canon), wrap your ears around this mix he’s done for Playground, a program on the Belgium-based radio station, Studio Brussel:

Tempelhof & Gigi Masin – Tsuki LP

Good one for a Monday, this:

This meeting of two minimalist minds was premiered on Boiler Room Debuts a couple of days back. Gigi Masin and Templehof have created an ambient piece of percussive electronica that’s released on the ‘Tsuki’ LP on 17th May on Hell Yeah Recordings. If you pre-order now, you’ll get a couple of downloads to tide things over until the full length’s out, one of which is the above and one of which is the below:

Dusky – Ingrid Is A Hybrid

All eyes on the new one from Dusky, dropped ahead of the release of their forthcoming album, ‘Outer’.

The release coincides with the debut of their new live show, taking place at a sold-out Village Underground this Saturday, and brings together a clean, club-ready production including vocal samples, melodic textures and a sound that’s unmistakably ‘Dusky’.

‘Ingrid Is A Hybrid’ is available via their own 17 Steps.

Lil Silva – Lines (George FitzGerald Remix)

George FitzGerald’s given Lil Silva’s recent single ‘Lines’ the once over. Chopping up samples over an infectious beat, GF retains the atmosphere of the original whilst ensuring the tune’s dancefloor-ready.

Lil Silva’s six track ‘Jimi’ EP hits the shelves on 6th May via Good Years Music.

Lea Porcelain – Loose Life (Roman Flügel Remix)

Mood music of the best kind…

With a reflective, changing of the season atmosphere here at HDHQ, we were blessed with the ideal soundtrack in this emotional, synth-heavy remix of Lea Porcelain. Roman Flügel has pulled out the new wave elements to great effect, building a crisp electronic base for Markus Nikolaus’s melancholy vocals. With all the reminiscing that came from #indieamnesty, this tugged at the heart-strings like some of the classics of the late-era, hands in the air period.

‘Loose Life’ is taken from LP’s self-titled debut EP and Roman’s version is half of a remix package put out by Live At Robert Johnson, last seen releasing HD fave Fort Romeau. Another winner.
