Percussions – Digital Arpeggios

Kieran ‘Four Tet’ Hebdon’s just released one of the tracks of 2015.

‘Digital Arpeggios’, out today on Text Records under Hebdon’s Percussions moniker, has been hotly anticipated since the start of the year. ‘Digital Arpeggios’ first came to many people’s attention on the Essential Mix in March, when Four Tet paired up with Jamie XX.

We were lucky enough to see this live at Dekmantel last month. Foolishly, we left the main stage to see Jackmaster, and we missed out on fully appreciating what proved to be one of the many highlights of the festival.

Midland – Double Feature

Been loving this brand new cut from Midland since he dropped it on his Boiler Room set back in June over in Milan. He’s releasing the infectious number on ReGraded, a new sub label of his own label Graded, intended to focus on sample-based, disco-tinged house. Sounds good to us.

You can also get a taste for the B-side ‘Stop, Don’t Let The Beat’ on B-Traits’ Radio 1 show here.

And for yet more Midland, it’s worth checking out his August residency on Rinse FM every Friday night. You can hear ANOTHER of his new tunes ‘Blush’, coming in just after the thirteen minute mark. Along with a guest mix from Zurich-based DJ Eli Verveine coming in later on, it’s a top listen.

Young Marco – The Best I Could Do (With What I Had)

You can get lost in this one. Over nine minutes of ethereal beats from one of Amsterdam’s hottest newcomers, Young Marco.

We’ve been waiting patiently for this extended, online version to appear since it was released a couple of months ago on vinyl. Dekmantel had then teamed up with the Dutch clothes label Patta to provide a limited edition box set featuring four EPs worth of music from artists such as Fatima Yamaha, Interstellar Funk and Aardvarck, together with a range of clothing including hats, bags and hoodies.

You can see the threads on offer here, and catch a preview of all the tunes below. Although we’ve snuck in a cheeky YouTube clip of Tom Trago’s ‘Brutal Romance’ below that – it’s a stand-out from the box set and its hefty breakdown just don’t come across in the EP preview.

NVOY – All Night

Fresh from a stint playing the We Love series in Ibiza, London duo NVOY are back on home turf with their brand new single ‘All Night’, released on Black Butter Records. And guess what? They’re back just in time to get their heads together for the next Human Drizzle Presents at Basing House on 25th September.

With stabbing synths and an infectious bassline, ‘All Night’ sees the Black Butter duo put their own spin on classic four-to-the-floor house. It’s a catchy number, and having already won the hearts of bloggers and YouTube channels with their previous work, they look destined to follow in the footsteps of similar future house producers such as Blonde and label mates Gorgon City.

We’re delighted to have them playing for us on Friday 25th September, and together with HD fave Ben Gomori, our resident Hot Karl AND a very special guest, it’s set to be a night to remember. Tickets are currently a steal at just £6 over on RA.

See you down the front?

Leon Vynehall – Midnight Over Rainbow Road

The team sheet involved in the Gerd Janson-curated ‘Musik For Autobahns 2’ compilation is something to behold. Joy Orbison, Lauer, Fort Romeau, Bicep and many more, all penning tracks that have been inspired by trips on the Autobahn between Frankfurt and Heidelberg.

Apparently Leon Vynehall undertook extensive research of the BAB 5 to come up with ‘Midnight On Rainbow Road’ and boy do we thank him for it. M.O.R.R is over six minutes of electronic bliss and is a welcome return from LV. Check out the preview for the whole album here and pre-order a copy from Rush Hour here.

Chaos In The CBD – Midnight In Peckham

Smooth tones on the next release for South London’s label-du-jour, Rhythm Section. ‘Midnight In Peckham’ has been penned by the Brothers Helliker-Hales, otherwise known as Chaos In The CBD, and it’s laid-back as you like. A late-night jazz vibe takes centre stage, meandering along hand-in-hand with a hypnotic deep-house back drop. It’s sure to be popular, get your pre-orders for the four-track EP here.

DJ Dodger Stadium – You Don’t Have To Be Alone

Encapturing a similar vibe to ‘Love Songs’, the stand-out from their debut album last year, the co-founders of LA-based label Body High do love a vocal loop. DJ Dodger Stadium aka Jerome LOL & Samo Sound Boy are back with this feel-good house track ‘You Don’t Have To Be Alone’. Big earworm this one:

Jamie XX – S.I.A.R (Pional’s Room Version)

Jamie XX’s ‘Stranger In A Room’ gets the remix treatment from fellow Young Turks producer, Pional. The Spaniard’s added a bass-heavy layer to the tune, whilst also keeping the understated feel well in tact. Welcome sounds for a Monday.

Disclosure – Willing & Able ft. Kwabs

Rising star Kwabs has been called in for guest vocals on Disclosure’s new single, ‘Willing & Able’. The tune blends Kwabs’ hefty lung power and soulful tones, with the laid-back, more down-tempo string to Disclosure’s bow. It will feature on the duo’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, ‘Caracal’, hitting the shelves next month.

Yotto – Slowly

Dreamy number coming out on Anjunadeep. Penned by Finland’s Yotto (Otto Yliperttula to his ma and pa) you can get your mits on the record on 28th August.
