Klaves – People

Infectious and funky are two words that spring to mind on the first listen of Klaves’ new single, ‘People’. There’s a lot going on but the Polish producer skilfully layers the tune, gradually building towards a crescendo that’ll have even the clumsiest looking dainty on the d’floor.

Some more good news – this will be released on PMR Records’ new sub-label, Beat Club on 12th October. Spawned to push forward newer talent while PMR focuses on the household names, Beat Club sounds right up our street. Stay tuned for more on that and Klaves’ B-side, ‘Oh-No’.

The 2 Bears feat Sink the Pink – Not This Time

Hanging out with Raf Rundell and Joe Goddard must be great. The lovable bears just can’t stop spreading the fun right now, whether it’s giving out free tye-dye t-shirts or hiding Indonesian Rupiah around Bestival…

Their latest single is ‘Not This Time’ featuring the colourful Sink the Pink crew. Raf’s vocals take centre stage, belting out a seriously catchy chorus that won’t leave you for days and days. It’s a feel-good sort of tune that’ll have you toe-tapping in the office, wishing you were wearing one of those t-shirts and spending some Rupiah.

The excitement continues as ‘Not this Time’ will join ‘Angel’, ‘Get Out’ and ‘Money Man’ on their upcoming album. ‘The Night is Young’ is due to be released on October 12th on Norman Cook’s Southern Fried Records. More fun times ahead.

P.S Catch their live show at Tufnell Park Dome on October 30th, see you there.

Stephan Bodzin & Marc Romboy – Kerberos

As summer draws to a close, darker days mean darker tunes.  ‘Kerberos’ is haunting techno at its finest, with an enchanting melody and atmospheric build-ups all the way through.  Very reminiscent of David August’s work we raved about here.

Released on Romboy’s Systematic label, ‘Kerberos’ is the latest in collaborations between these techno titans that go back to 2005.  It’s sparser and darker than what we’ve heard from them before, but it’s all the better for it.

If you like it, check out their Boiler Room in Sao Paulo last month for more of the good stuff.

Flight Facilities – Two Bodies

Sensual vid for an even more sensual tune.

‘Two Bodies’ is the next single to be released from what can only be described as a highly-anticipated debut album from Flight Facilities. They’ve worked on it for the last four years, and featuring hits like ‘Clair De Lune’, ‘Stand Still’ and this pop gem featuring fellow Aussie Emma Louise on vocals, ‘Down To Earth’ is sure to be a big success.

Out October 24th, pre-orders here.

SBTRKT feat. Raury – Higher

Since we last updated you on HD favourite SBTRKT, he’s been a busy man, spoiling us with details of his new album. ‘Wonder Where We Land’ is set for release on September 22nd and judging by what we’ve heard so far, it’s time to get hyped.

This latest album teaser has come in the form of a collaboration with prodigious 18-year-old rapper Raury. With other partners on the album ranging from A$AP Ferg to soulful youngster Denai Moore, it feels like Aaron Jerome is ready to put his well-known production skills to the test.

September 22nd can’t come quickly enough over here.

Human Drizzle: The Playlist, September 2014

September, is that you? But you’re early surely? Whatever, you’re here now.

Stave off the autumn with us by taking a tour of August’s musical delights. John Talabot featured heavily, Shelby Grey gave notice of his not inconsiderable promise and everyone lost their collective sh*t over the Caribou remix. Sounds like the best night ever.

Whilst we’ve got your attention, block out Friday 5th December in your diaries. Next Human Drizzle Presents. It’s been far too long.

Sirens Of Lesbos – Long Days Hot Nights (Claptone Remix)

The interestingly-named Greek six-piece collective Sirens of Lesbos are releasing their debut single ‘Long Days Hot Nights’ a week today on Exploited Records. It’s a wonderful slice of what they call ‘Fantasy Music’, an ode to the balearic spirit of summer. Claptone‘s on the release too, providing a remix that‘ll take it from the beach and onto the dancefloor.

Not a bad start to the week:

Caribou – Can’t Do Without You (Tale Of Us & Mano Le Tough Remix)

Finally. A legitimate and full-length version as uploaded by Berlin-based duo, Tale Of Us. The need for scouring through festival footage on YouTube of this one being played throughout the summer is no longer.

Caribou‘s 2014 return single has proven to be one of the tunes of the year, and this remix by heavyweights Tale Of Us and Mano Le Tough is going to extend its airtime, giving the already-epic song more depth and more of a dancefloor feel. Pure class:

Bondax – All I See (TCTS Remix)

This one nearly slipped through the net which quite frankly would’ve been a travesty. The Greco-Roman-affiliated producer TCTS is on the remix for Bondax here, and as Annie Mac says, he’s on fire. He’s given the already catchy single a boost by adding in an excellent summer-sounding piano loop, amongst other things.

TCTS’ very own ‘Games’ EP came out just a few weeks ago. Certainly worth your time.

John Talabot – Bicep Remixes

JT’s producing bangers for fun right now…

You thought we meant Justin Timberlake didn’t you? Heathens. Anyway, John Talabot’s followed up his superb Pional remix with not one but two remixes for the latest Bicep release and they are both EXCELLENT. It’s rolling tech house of the kind JT (careful…) is world-beating at right now. We will be as ‘down the front’ as it’s possible to be on 8th November for his Hivern Discs showcase.
