Maceo Plex – Conjure One EP

Maceo Plex has given us a sneak preview of a new release out on his Ellum label in May.

‘Conjure One’ EP features three tracks. ‘Conjure Drama’ feels like something you might hear out of the Innervisions stable: rich and emotive. At the other end of the scale, ‘Conjure Bass’ is all scatty synths and effects with a dark undercurrent. And ‘Conjure Balearia’ is a soaring synth-ride, almost Vangelis-esque, folding into a deep beat. Certainly interesting stuff from Maceo. It looks like this release will showcase a wide range of his production skills, and that can be no bad thing for a man who had a phenomenal 2013.

If you’re lucky, you’ll have snapped up one of the rare tickets for the Ellum Special featuring Maceo Plex at Factory 7 this Friday. He was bloody brilliant at Unknown last year, and his Boiler Room set from the Warehouse Project is a constant source of inspiration to the HD resident DJs.
