Fantastically-named Scandinavian pairing Love Ojensa and Tim Söderström have let Riton do the business on their recent release ‘Clockwork’ and it’s a delight. The pick-up at 2:40ish is summit else.

After a moderately chuggish intro, we’re treated to the slightly darker side of Hamburg’s finest, Tensnake. He’s taken on Psychemagik’s new one ‘Black Noir Schwarz’, which is due out on Crosstown Rebels on March 10th. Both the original and remix are stomping. Largely centred around the wonderful vocal from Renegade, they contain some weighty tones that should be hitting a dancefloor near you soon enough.
Feisty for a mid-week listen.

Hypercolour’s vinyl imprint, Hype LTD, have done us a solid and put out an atmos-filled remix package of Maya Jane Cole’s 2011 EP, ‘Don’t Put Me In Your Box’, including that gem from Dark Sky.
Bonobo does his thing on the same track with decidedly more chilled results:

‘Better Places’ is the new one from Toyboy & Robin, and it’s right up our street. Deploying the same ear for a melody that made ‘Jaded’ one of our favourite dancefloor moments of 2013, ‘Better Places’ features the considerable falsetto vocal talents of Alex Adams. It also gives you the unmistakeable feeling that it’s going to be very big.
Like Clean Bandit’s chart-slaying ‘Rather Be’, ‘Better Places’ combines a 90s sensibility with a memorable pop hook and all manner of nostalgic summer vibes. It even has a guitar line that calls to mind the great Daryl Braithwaite – and we would be very surprised if it isn’t very soon providing the soundtrack to your summer. Toyboy & Robin release the ‘Better Places’ EP on Chase & Status’ MTA Records on 17th March, and you can expect very big things from them (and Mr. Adams) in 2014.
Aquilo are a duo who’ve been holed up in their hometown of Silverdale in the Lake District for the last few months to come up with this beauty, ‘You There’. You can practically (but not quite) hear said lakes in the drawn out string sections and sparse piano. And the vocals are nothing short of angelic. For the more fragile amongst you this Monday, don’t go near it. It may send you over the edge.
This joins last year’s ‘Calling Me’ as their second track to date. With their debut EP due out soon, something tells us these guys are going to be generating all sorts of column inches.
Pixelated have given an extra bounce to Sam Sparro’s hit from last year, ‘Hang On 2 Your Love’. It’s a catchy vocal, but the New York duo have dressed it up perfectly as dancefloor fodder. There’s some refreshingly clean cut fun to be had in this tune.

Well this is fun. A mixtape Todd Terje did for Permanent Vacation back in 2010 that might just be the best thing that happens to you today.
Not sure why he’s uploaded it again recently, but it’s crammed with excellent tunes and should guide you through Friday afternoon nicely…

The Catalan wizard (first time someone who isn’t a Barcelona player’s been called that?)’s chosen name hits the nail on the head. It’s the type of tune that makes you want to shut your eyes and sway purposefully in a dimly lit room. Immersive.
