A very Happy New Year to you all. In just over two weeks time we’ve got our first party of twenty fourteen, and we’d love you to join us.
In true HDP tradition, we’re popping back over the river for this one and decamping to Bar 512 on Kingsland Road. It’s an excellent little space about thirty seconds walk from Dalston Junction, and with the fun-filled line-up we’ve commandeered, we’re confidently predicting another unmissable night. Tell all your mates about it over here.
Tickets are currently on sale at just six pound a pop, so if you want to save a little for a couple of extra bitter shandies on arrival, get to it pronto:
We’re very pleased to have Panda headlining proceedings.
Back in November last year theirs was the best debut EP we’d heard in a long while. Released on Toyboy & Robin’s Cool Kid Music, ‘Eighty Nine’ was full of blistering pianos and swirling synths, hugely influenced by 90s house yet still sounding on the right side of current. For a taster:
Since then their work rate has been second to none. They’ve given away a glorious hands-in-the-air piece of euphoria to fans for reaching three thousand followers on Soundcloud, they’ve recently dropped a taster of their upcoming EP on the tastemaking Eton Messy, and they’ve set the wheels in motion for their own label. Oh, and did we mention they dropped a wicked little number on the recent Black Butter Records compilation? It’s called ‘Harmony Fifth’:
Basically, these lads are going places. Follow them, like them, and then come dance to them.
Support comes from emerging talent Sixth Avenue Express, who again wowed us back in November last year, releasing an extremely promising EP on the House of Disco label entitled ‘I See’. Exploring a slightly deeper soundscape, it’s all woozy basslines, catchy vocals and a wonderfully chugging tempo.
Judging by the standard of recent mixes, we’re thrilled to have him on the ones and twos come 7th Feb:
Project Fresh Socks stepped in to spin some records at Human Drizzle Presents at the Yard back in August. We were mightily impressed with their tune selection and didn’t think twice about booking them for this one. Featuring the likes of Leon Vynehall and Pleasurekraft, check out the ‘Don’t Walk, Dance’ mix done by the London-based, Nordic duo:
Warming up proceedings nicely will be HD resident, Hot Karl. Get yourselves down early for his excellent selections and alluring stage presence.
All in all, the 7th Feb is shaping up to be a cracking night. So ditch the celery smoothie, postpone the boot camp session and get yourself down the front for this.
