The skittering beat and warped vocals create an essentially new track and, to save you the time listening to the original too, this is better.
The two have collaborated before, as the video and SC link below prove. Evidence:
Vibes-a-plenty on this new remix from The Golden Boy. We know little about the Birmingham-based producer, but it’s certainly worth shedding some light on Az&Tor. Having had a coupla releases on MadTech now, most recent ‘Sit Back’ EP seems to be picking up the hype the duo deserve. Original ‘Carry Mine’ is our pick of the bunch. Although it’s a sound not too dissimilar from the silky electronica of the likes of Disclosure and SBTRKT, there’s some top vocals in there from Aisha Zoe, aka Az, we guess. Makes the tune stand out from the crowd. We’d like to hear more:
Essential one for your summer downloads here, Goldroom has recently uploaded the third instalment of his ‘Verano Mix Series’. You may very well be aware, ‘verano’ means ‘summer’ in Spanish, and ‘sun kissed’ is certainly one way we’d describe this mix.
As Mr Josh Legg (Goldroom to most) puts it himself, “it’s an hour to tell the story of a summer day, sunrise to sunset. If everything is right, this should be an escape, a pathway to losing your problems for a day. Put this on, get your windows down, and let your hair get a little messed up.”
Sounds good to us, get in on the download now.
Here’s the second remix of Foals’ ‘Bad Habit’ to feature on these pages. We gave Alex Metric’s turbo-charged re-work the thumbs up last week, now production duo Voyeur have got their grubby mits on it. And we are so very grateful. They’ve managed to create a pulsating house track that builds and builds, all the while keeping lead singer Yannis’ ethereal vocals well intact. Top effort this.
Remember this beauty they did last year?
Soooo HD headliner Copy Paste Soul has just been out in Ibiza only bladdy playing at Carl Cox’s Opening Party at Space. Here’s his two hour set from the night, it’s jam-packed with goodies. Gets us that tincy bit excited for what will hopefully be a blinder on Saturday 3rd August at Human Drizzle Presents – get your £6 tickets here while you can, not long now…
Two of the poppier acts putting out electronica have come together here, for your aural enjoyment.
Both collaborators have been on the mixes too recently, with Purity Ring stepping into the Boiler Room in Montreal (with D’Eon and Grown Folk – massive) and Jon Hopkins helming June’s FACT mix. They’re both excellent, espesh Jon’s, and worth a slice of your morning. The FACT mix can be found here and t’other is below:
For all the hazy heads this Monday, look no further than Parisian duo Paradis’s recent gift to the world. It’s a remix of fellow Frenchman Agoria’s track ‘For One Hour’, and as the title suggests, it’s in no hurry whatsoever. It’s a drawn out, progressive and darn right atmospheric re-work.
Similar vibes on these two he made earlier:
