CLUB MUSIC. That’s the only phrase we can think of to describe transatlantic trendsetters TNGHT’s recent output, and ne’er has this been exhibited better than last week’s gig at Oval Space in East London.
Hailing from Montreal and Glasgow respectively, Lunice and Hudson Mohawke have led from the front with horn-heavy, trap-influenced, maximalist dance music. As Time Out put it in a breathless tweet on the night, “Sounds like the future to us.” Highlights were their recent Waka Flocka Flame remix (available to download from the aptly chosen url, TNG.HT) and their instant classic, ‘Higher Ground’:
