Released on Monday, this track has been winning plaudits across the nation’s dancefloors and airwaves for some time, and it’s easy to see why.
First up, B.Traits expertly combines the echoey percussion and acid house piano riffs that the likes of Skream, Emeli Sandé and Toddla T have used to such nostalgic effect in the last couple of years. Then there’s the huge breakdown which owes more than a little to Robin S (and anyone who thinks that is a bad thing lacks either a sense of humour or a pair of ears – hopefully the former). The final ingredient is Elisabeth Troy’s vocal. That’s Elisabeth Troy who sang on MJ Cole’s classic, ‘Crazy Love’. She’s good.
This tune is not doing anything new, but it’s a banger – and you’ll be hearing a lot more of it this summer. And remix fans amongst you may want to check out the decidedly fruity versions produced by D Bridge, Breakage and Toddla T & DJ Q.
