This tune from Italian producer Spada has been around for a few months now, but it hasn’t received much English-speaking attention – and nor has Spada himself, despite support from such DJ royalty as Laurent Garnier, John Digweed and Erol Alkan.
‘Claire’ is a patiently-evolving house gem of which Garnier himself would be proud – with an insistent piano riff bursting through the spaced-out effects to provide a great climax to finish. We say ‘finish’ – there’s actually a solid two minutes of silence at the end of the track. These are less enjoyable than the previous four minutes, but overall it’s an excellent piece of music.
